Coat Condition 

I understand that Soaks Dog Groomers puts my pets comfort above all else. If my pet’s coat is matted, I understand that the groomers may have to shave the mats out rather than perform a de-matting procedure. I also understand that if my pet is severely matted, there is an increased risk of clipper burn or cuts. I understand that all attempts will be made to prevent this. I also understand that matted pets take additional time to groom and removing mats can cause significant wear on tools, so an additional fee will be added.

I understand that all appointments have an allocated time frame and if my dog is unable to be finished within that time, because of behaviour or coat condition, I will have to make another appointment.

I am aware that if my dog has gone past the recommended time between appointments there will be an additional charge. This will be discussed when Soaks Dog Groomers has seen my dogs condition.

Soaks Dog Groomers requires a 6 – 8 week grooming schedule for most long haired dogs, depending on at home maintenance, coat type and length. If your dog has gone over this period there may be an extra charge depending on the length and condition of the coat.

I am aware that if my dog has gone past the required time between appointments there will be an additional charge. This will be discussed when Soaks Dog Groomers has seen my dogs condition.

Health

Grooming can be stressful for some dogs and I will inform Soaks Dog Groomers if my pet has any heart conditions or any stress-related issues before grooming.

We will consider accepting your dog for a groom if they are sick or elderly, providing that you understand and accept that the groom will be performed at entirely your risk.

If my dog has fleas I will inform Soaks Dog Groomers, should any fleas be found I understand an additional charge will be added.

Behaviour 

I will inform Soaks Dog Groomers if my dog has any behavioural issues, such as biting, aggression or a history of any of these on any occasion before being treated. I understand that the groomer will carry out services requested to the best of her abilities given my dogs behaviour and temperament.

Please note Soaks Dog Groomers are not taking on dogs with a bite risk, or dogs that display aggression at this time.

I am aware if the groom cannot be finished due to behaviour or coat condition, the charge will be for the cost of the full appointment (which will be discussed beforehand).

Cancellations

(All cancellations must be made via telephone in accordance with our opening hours.)

For appointments under £50:

I understand if I cancel my appointment without 24 hours’ notice, I will be charged for 50% of the appointment. I understand I am liable to pay this fee if I cancel after the 24-hour notice period.

For appointments over £50:

A 25% deposit is required for larger appointments, I understand my appointment will not be confirmed until this deposit is paid. There is a cancellation period of 48 hours for larger appointments, and if I cancel after this period, I will lose my deposit.

If you do not inform us you will not be attending your appointment, it will be marked as a no-show and 100% of the appointment cost will be required before another appointment will be made.

Collection

We will telephone you when your dog is ready to be picked up or agree to a pickup time in advance with you when dropping off your dog. We ask that you please pick your dog up on time or within a reasonable time frame afterwards. If you do not do so, we reserve the right to charge you an additional dog-sitting fee.

I will check my dog at the time of collection to ensure I am satisfied with the service Soaks Dog Groomers has provided.

Emergencies 

In an emergency, I authorise Soaks Dog Groomers to immediately seek professional veterinary attention for my pet (at my expense). I understand that all attempts will be made to contact me in the event of an emergency.

I understand that Soaks Dog Groomers is working with animals and very rarely accidents can occur.

(In the event of an accident Soaks Dog Groomers will inform the customer at time of collection.)
